News LSDA team hand over an X-Ray machine spare part to the Comboni Hospital team.
Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) with support from USAID donated an X-ray machine Inverter board worth USD 10,500 to Comboni Hospital on the 3 August 2023. The donation was received by the district leadership in the presence of Comboni Hospital administration at the district headquarter.
While receiving the donation, the district chairperson Jafari Basajabalaba hailed UPMB for the continued support in promotion of health services in the district. Handing over the donation, Dr Mugisha Dan said, UPMB had learnt that X-ray services at Comboni hospital had been paralyzed for more than 2 years due to the damaged inverter board and it prompted the donation. “The X-ray machine at the facility is used to diagnose a number of conditions including diagnosis for TB and bones fractures”, said Dr Kyangwa Joseph, the Medical Superintendent Comboni hospital. The restored machine will support in TB screening among children and people living with HIV/AIDS.
In attendance was the District Vice Chairperson, CAO, Principal Assistant Secretary, District Health Officer, District TB and Leprosy Supervisor and the District Information Officer. Comboni Hospital was Represented by the Hospital Administrator and Principal Nursing Officer. UPMB was represented by the TB Advisor and Dr Patrick Musinguzi – Care & Treatment Specialist. Pacific Diagnostics LTD was represented by their Biomedical engineer. The district leadership greatly appreciation the UPMB and USAID investment in the district.
