News UPMB 2025 Symposium Champions Integrated Systems for Universal Health Coverage
The Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) successfully convened the 2025 Annual Symposium, that brought together the Member Health Facilities and a wide range of health sector stakeholders from across the country. The symposium was held under the theme; “Integrated Systems for Sustainable Universal Health Coverage,” inspired by 1 Corinthians 12:12–13, underscoring the importance of unity and collaboration in strengthening Uganda’s health system.
The annual gathering provided a vital platform for reflection, learning, and shared accountability. One of the key highlights was the presentation of the approved UPMB Annual Report, showcasing programmes and projects implemented during Financial Year 2024/25.
This allowed members and partners to collectively review progress, lessons learned, and emerging priorities in service delivery. Participants also shared practical experiences and innovations in health service delivery, leadership, and governance from MHFs, demonstrating how integrated approaches are improving efficiency, quality, and access to care.
Updates and insights from national health regulators and policy makers further enriched discussions, ensuring alignment with national priorities and policy direction. In recognition of excellence, the best performing Staff, member health and training institutions were celebrated and awarded for the FY 2024/25, reinforcing a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement within the network.
